Fishing has been good.  Walleye’s have been primarily in green weeds – wood and rocks are ok.

Though we never want to be a downer at the Musky Shop, we do want to raise awareness for those planning to ice fish this season and promote safety for those traveling to the Northwoods to ice fish for the first time.

This month’s lake, Moen Lake, resting just east of Rhinelander in Oneida County is a great place to hang your ice fishing hat without leaving all the creature comforts behind.

Fishing in the Northwoods of Wisconsin is still through the ice unless you hit the Wisconsin river south of us.

Winter seems to want to stick around longer than we all want but since that is the case one might as well still take advantage of some late season ice fishing. Ice conditions in the Northwoods are in the 30" range.

Ice fishing in the Northwoods continues to be very productive. Many of guys are fishing for panfish and gamefish.

Minnesota fisherman, Rick Konakowitz, recently landed a rare "golden" crappie while fishing on Clear Lake.

Saturday, January 22 - Lakeland Union High School Ice Fishing team with the help of their coaches and sponsors were able to organize the first invitational tournament held this year on Lake Minocqua.
