Musky Shop Northwoods Fishing Report: Early November 2024

James Stewart November 08, 2024

Hello Everyone,

We hope you are all having a great fall. Fishing in the Northwoods of Wisconsin has been going very well. We have received reports of some large Muskies being caught and anglers catching exciting numbers.

Fishing for Walleye, Crappies, Bass, and panfish has been smooth sailing this season.  Panfish, Crappies, and Bass have been found in the weeds where there is good weed growth. Most of them have been in the 5'-12' range. Walleye are scattered, with some holding in shallow cover and some holding on deep rock reefs, deep sand grass, and following forage in the main lake basins. For the deep Walleye, Redtail chubs are a tremendous live bait choice, and for those Walleye that are shallow, XL Fatheads and Walleye Suckers are an excellent choice for live bait. Crankbaits such as Rapala F-7s and F-9s work excellently, cranking or twitching them.

Muskies have been scattered, but most are holding on or near the break lines. According to many Musky reports we have received from our customers and guides, the majority of the Muskies caught were on or slightly off the weed edge. As in many of my reports, put together an approach to how you will attack your fishing day on whatever lake or lakes you choose. Try to cover a few different areas to search for Muskies. When you locate them, concentrate on that area, and you will most likely have success. For those getting out on the water, here are some great fall baits that have been produced for fellow anglers this season: Magnum Alpha Dawgs, 10" weighted Suicks, 8" and 10" Sandcats, 10" red October Tubes and Bucher DepthRaiders.

Muskies have been hitting Live Musky Suckers very well. We have a great selection of fresh, wild-caught Musky Suckers in our cold well-water tanks.

Please let us know if we can be of service to you. It would be our pleasure.

Good Fishing, and God Bless. Jim Stewart
